The celebration of National Cinema Day, which was originally slated to take place on September 16, has been postponed by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI).

The MIA announced in an official notification that the National Cinema Day will henceforth be held on September 23 in response to requests from various stakeholders and to encourage as much participation as possible.

To commemorate this day, almost 4,000 screens at multiplexes across the nation, including PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Carnival, and Delite, have chosen to charge a 75-cent admission fee.

National Cinema Day was created as a result of the enthusiastic crowd's reactions to the just-released sci-fi action movie "Brahmastra: The Golden Age."

The National Cinema Day, which had been scheduled for September 16th, will instead take place on September23rd.

Title The steep discount is a method of saying "thank you" to moviegoers who helped the theatre reopen following a protracted closure due to Covid-19.

National Cinema Day is also a call to action for moviegoers who haven't returned to a theatre in their neighborhood.

A comparable deal was announced in the US in August. While the typical price of movie tickets is $9, they were available for just $3.
